Services You Should Be Incorporating During The Winter Months

Let’s use these Winter months in our favor. We are giving you a complete AMA guide to Winter services that will have you ready for Spring and Summer.

Sclerotherapy: What is it?

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. Sclerotherapy involves an injection of a solution directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot. Over time, the vessel turns into scar tissue that fades from view.

How Is The Procedure Done?

A solution is injected through a very fine needle directly into the vein. There is a possible of mild discomfort, however it subsides within one to two minutes. The number of veins that are injected depend on the size and location of the veins.

This is a perfect procedure to do to have your legs ready for shorts come Spring and Summer!

CoolSculpting is not your run of the mill body-contouring procedure. Most fat reduction procedures require lasers or surgery, which can damage the surrounding healthy tissue, causing deep bruising or bleeding. Traditional procedures you have seen in the past are great, and have amazing results, but do have drawbacks. CoolSculpting is a nonsurgical technique that is used to reduce fat in areas. It uses cold temperatures to freeze stubborn fat cells. This procedure was created to address certain areas of stubborn fat not responsive to diet and exercise.

What Happens During My CoolSculpting Session?

You will first have a consult to discuss the areas you are trying to address. During the treatment the applicator will be placed on the treatment area and there will be a slight sucking sensation as it adheres to your body, followed by the cooling effect. You may experience slight pulling, mild pinching, intense cold, aching, or cramping on the treatment site. The sensations will calm down as the treatment area becomes numb. After the applicator is removed the provider will briefly massage the area to break up the treated fat cells and enhance fat reduction.

How Long Until I See Results?

You will start to see changes as soon as 1-3 months post treatment. Final results may take up to 6 months of more. Now is the time to come in for your treatments to see results before the warmer months ahead!

What Is Kybella?

Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile. The active ingredient in Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal. Before starting treatment, we will examine the area under and around your chin to determine if Kybella is right for you. Then, we will tailor your treatment to the amount of fat under the chin and your aesthetic goals.

What better time than now to come in for this treatment?! Throw a scarf on to camouflage the swelling and head into Spring and Summer with a new found confidence.
