Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers or facial fillers are products such as collagen and hyaluronic acid that help to rejuvenate facial skin by reducing or eliminating wrinkles, enhancing lips and replacing soft-tissue volume loss through facial injections. With age, our skin becomes more susceptible to wrinkles and sagging. Exposure to sun and years of muscle movement ( squinting, chewing, smiling ) contribute to tissue breakdown of the skin requiring intervention. Facial fillers are a great way to combat the aging process in a natural way.
We offer several different types of facial fillers at Ashley McFarland Aesthetics as well as many areas in which they can be injected. Depending on what area you are concerned with or your desired look may be, we are able to determine which filler would be best suited for you. You can expect, on average, for most dermal fillers to last 6 months-18 months depending on the area treated and which filler was injected.
Kybella
Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile. The active ingredient in Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal. Before starting treatment, we will examine the area under and around your chin to determine if Kybella is right for you. Then, we will tailor your treatment to the amount of fat under the chin and your aesthetic goals.
