What is QWO?

QWO is the first and only FDA-Approved injectable cellulite treatment capable of permanent reduction of cellulite on the buttocks whether it’s light, moderate, or severe.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is a part of our biology. 9 out of 10 women will have cellulite in their lifetime. Cellulite ‘dips’ occur around pockets of fat and cellulite appears because the fat wedges between connective tissue. QWO is an enzymatic that helps disrupt and break down fibers that are responsible for the creation of cellulite. From there, fat cells are redistributed, and it helps stimulate production of new collagen.

Why do we get cellulite?

Cellulite is not caused by what, or how much, you eat. It isn’t fat. It isn’t sagging skin. And it isn’t because you aren’t exercising enough. Unfortunately, no matter how much you work out, how healthy you eat, or wish it away – cellulite won’t budge unless you get to the source.

What causes cellulite?

There are 3 things that together cause cellulite signature dimples. Those include skin — over time, skin thins. Fat – fat cells enlarge and push against the skin. And fibrous bands – The fibrous bands under skin thicken and cause tension.

It is important to note that QWO is not for fat reduction. For fat reduction treatment, please see our Coolsculpting information. https://ashleymcfarlandaesthetics.com/ashleymcfarlandaesthetics-com-coolsculpting-elite/

Does QWO work?

QWO works in three ways. First by releasing fibrous bands, second by redistributing fat cells, and lastly by stimulating the growth of new collagen.

Would I be a good candidate for QWO?

The best course of action is to come in for a consultation for our providers to evaluate the severity of your cellulite and determine whether you’re a good candidate; however, if you have visible cellulite then you are likely a good candidate.

How long does QWO last? Is it permanent?

Patients can typically expect to see visible results after their first session. On average, results appear within 3 weeks. For optimal results, a series of 3 QWO treatments should be performed. Although the treatment is quick and has little to no downtime, so it’s extremely effective. The effects are permanent. Three sessions are needed, each spaced 21 days apart. The main factor to consider with this is how severe your cellulite is. The more severe, additional treatments beyond the three sessions may be needed, and will take longer to achieve desired results.

What to expect from your visit:

Either Ashley or Blair will first mark where you will be injected. They will inject QWO directly into the affected areas of the buttocks. We can inject up to 12 dimples per buttocks per session. The entire session will only last about 15 minutes.

What areas can I treat with QWO?

Women can use QWO to treat cellulite in their buttocks or the backs of legs.

Is QWO safe? What are the side effects?

After receiving a QWO injection you may experience soreness, bruising, and swelling around the injection site that could appear immediately after or in the following days. Other mild side effects may include redness, pain, itching, warmth, and discoloration. Bruising and other side effects could last up to 2-3 weeks after each treatment.
